Congestion Pricing in NYC: Everything You Need to Know
Start Date, Exemptions, and Map
Starting on June 30, 2024, vehicles entering the Congestion Relief Zone (CRZ) in Manhattan south of and including 60th Street will be charged a fee.
Exemptions:
- Vehicles registered to New York State residents with household incomes below $75,000
- Emergency vehicles
- Taxis and for-hire vehicles with passengers
- Buses and commercial trucks

Cost and Discounts
The congestion fee will vary depending on the time of day and the type of vehicle. The base fee for passenger vehicles will be $11 during peak hours (6am-6pm) and $7 during off-peak hours (6pm-6am). Commercial vehicles will pay higher fees.
Some drivers may be eligible for discounts. For example, residents of the CRZ who register their vehicles with the city will receive a $5 discount per day. Hybrid and electric vehicles will also be eligible for discounts.
