Carlos Alcaraz's Grand Slam Win Streak Ends at 15

Upset at US Open by Botic van de Zandschulp

Carlos Alcaraz's impressive 15-match Grand Slam win streak came to an end on Friday with a four-set loss to Botic van de Zandschulp in the third round of the US Open.

The 19-year-old Spaniard, who won the US Open last year, was bidding to become the youngest player to win back-to-back Grand Slam titles since Rafael Nadal in 2008.

But he was outplayed by the 26-year-old Dutchman, who won 6-3, 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-2.

Alcaraz's Loss Ends Impressive Run

Alcaraz's loss ends an impressive run of form that saw him win the Madrid Open, Barcelona Open, and Hamburg European Open earlier this year.

He also reached the semi-finals of the French Open and Wimbledon.

Van de Zandschulp, ranked 22nd in the world, will now face Andrey Rublev in the fourth round.
